As we near 2023, human identities are becoming increasingly paradoxical with traditional identifiers such as race, gender and religion gradually collapsing at a prominent rate. 


With globalisation and digital technology progressively taking over the world, what defines us as individuals is developing and transforming with every second and allowing individuals the freedom to alter their identities to adapt to their lifestyle instead of adhering to cultural norms or biological boundaries.


With individuals, specifically Millennials and Generation Z, starting to view these identifiers as social constructs; the concept of identity is shifting towards a future with a plethora of possibilities as well as a culture of label-less living as opposed to its once rigidly binary construction.


This visual report will examine the various forms that identity as a concept is developing and how the evolution of how we identify ourselves in the future will affect and influence the future of fashion branding.
